Filho may be overrated, but he and Lindland are the only MWs in the world that UFC could convince the public to be a believable opponent, without creating a rematch. Maybe Bisping as well, but I highly doubt they'd "job" Bisping to him just yet. He is Dana's overseas meal ticket, remember. Keep in mind, I do not see Lindland or Filho just "walking into UFC to beat Silva" to be among the UFC's best interest right now either. I'd love to see it, as I am a MASSIVE fan of "The Law", and would love to see him come back. I don't feel Silva would lose to anyone discussed in this topic just yet. Including GSP. He can be beaten, but I think some luck would be involved.

Okami was in control of the fight before Silva threw the illegal upkick. I really do think that Okami could (not necessarily that he would though) beat Silva, it's just he unfortunately wasn't been able to win the fight to get there against Franklin. Since then Okami has racked up 2 wins against fairly notable opponents in Jason MacDonald and Evan Tanner, I'd like to see Okami presented with another opportunity for the belt.
Until then, we should just have Silva fight two at a time.

As much as I love MacDonald and Tanner, they are not necessarily "notable opponents". I think if Maia wins one more fight, he could be the next opponent for Silva. I don't know though.

I'm not calling MacDonald a top three MW by any means, but the guy has a good MMA record and has beaten a few guys recently that the UFC has been trying to build up as names in the sport. The guy ain't great, but he's not bad by any means. And Evan Tanner is a former MW champ. Sure he wasn't at the top of his game when he fought Okami, but the guy was well respected in the MMA world for more than his awesome beard. You can't say that you wouldn't be bragging if you somehow managed to beat a guy as notable in MMA as Evan Tanner. And then besides the guy is still 21-4-1 and a pretty damn good fighter. And then you go on to say that Maia would be next in line if he wins one more fight? By that reasoning, Okami may as well be next in line. Maia's last few wins were over MacDonald and Herman. Okami as I said beat MacDonald who has recently beat Herman. Also, Okami would have fought Silva were it not for a hand injury anyways. It's all moot anyways as Okami is supposed to fight Lister at 92, which reasonably the winner of that would have a shot at the belt.

I just heard on a radio show that Silva was going to retire after a couple more fights. Is that true?
