Wasn't as close as Machida/Silva. I swear man, 1 second left and he KO'd him. BJ did it and was still trying to finish off Sherk, then Sherk couldn't continue after the bell. Almost like what happened to Silva, only Silva couldn't get up. Sherk actually went over to his corner.

I think the closest example is Tim head kicking Tra Telligman, but Machida was closer to the bell I think
BJ didn't KO Sherk, he wasn't out, the ref called the fight between rounds, actually BJ did.

From where I was watching that match, Sherk looked out. His hands weren't up, his body was slumping... whether he can recover quickly and Thiago can't, that's anyone's guess. But I will concede that the match was unpredictable to say the least.
Not making excuses for him, but did anyone notice that Thiago had a really hard time throwing his left hand? He wouldn't even jab... I'm wondering if his shoulder was messed up, because that's how he was holding it.

The match confirmed my fears about Thiago, he will never be top tier in the LHW division. He is too sloppy and reckless. Machida changed my opinion on him anyway. After Tito I respected his ability but thought he was boring. After Thiago match, hje is not so boring, maybe put him up against aggressive fighters and he will be provide an entertaining fight.
Anybody impressed with Jon Jones? Beside's obviously a need to work on cardio a bit he was very impressive.

Didn't see this card, but throwing something funny about it out there- the Machida/Silva fight was the only fight that didn't end after a round's conclusion (at a 5:00 mark) and it ended 1 second before the case (@ 4:59). Kinda funny.
PS- I like Machida's style. It's in a lot of ways similar to Liddell's when he's hot, only I would say Chuck relies more on power, whereas Machida is on sick timimg and angles. I feel like if I were a professional fighter Machida's style is the way I always imagined myself to fight. Mostly countering.

BJ didn't KO Sherk, he wasn't out, the ref called the fight between rounds, actually BJ did. Watched that fight twice last weekend. It was pretty funny. Sherk wasn't out at the end of the fight, but he seemed pretty out of it. The ref stopped the fighters for the end of the round when BJ was pummeling Sherk. BJ and the ref are getting up to leave and Sherk was just sitting there. Then BJ's like "dude, look at him. Stop this fight." The ref was convinced and Sherk didn't seem to mind at the time.

I could've sworn that all I seen in that fight was Tito chasing Machida. That could've just been me though. I think Machida just need to come out with the mindset he had going into the Thiago fight. Against Tito, he was fighting a former champion and a dominant one at that. I'm sure he knew that Tito hits with some force, since he knocked Wanderlei on his ass in their fight. Machida I just don't feel will be a champion in the UFC. They are going to keep lining up other, more established fighters (like Rampage). Matt Lindland also got the same runaround that I am thinking Machida will be put through. I hope I'm wrong, because after the showing he had against Thiago I think he deserves the winner of Rashad/Rampage... If Rampage bests Jardine (Which I bet he will).

Yeah, that's how it happened, but in the post fight interview Sherk said he never heard the bell, he thought the ref was stepping in to stop the fight, he thought that a stoppage would have been justified at that point but he didn't realize he had time to recover and continue fighting
He was walking around fine after the fight so I think he would have continued had he known the fight was not stopped, plus I don't think the ref is allowed to stop a fight between rounds.
